VOIP vs. PBX

Submitted by jafrank on Wed, 04/30/2003 - 1:07pm.

Teknoids,

Here comes the start of the phone questions. In our new building,
we are being asked to choose between a traditional Lucent PBX system and a
new VOIP system based on the Avaya 4620. We are talking about a system
with 200+ numbers.
Aside from issues of not mixing voice and data networks to
decrease the chance of data-based router crashes bringing down the phone
system, does anyone have advice, experience, links or anything else that
will help us think about the pros and cons of these systems as fully as
possible?
Thanks.

- Jonathan
