The following is a newly created position. While it may not be totally
obvious from the position announcement, the most desirable candidate would
have a fair amount of experience with web development.

UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA SCHOOL OF LAW

03-09-05. Assistant Dean of Information Technology

The Assistant Dean of Information Technology at the UNC School of Law is a
senior level, twelve-month, full-time IT role reporting to the Senior
Associate Dean. The primary focus of this position is to oversee all
information technology resources, including web development, network and
end user support, web-based instructional and course development and
classroom multimedia technology.

The successful candidate should have experience managing a technical team
in meeting the technical support requirements of an organization of 150 or
more professionals; have a balance of both software engineering and
hardware deployment experience, and be responsible for developing and
implementing a technology strategy to support key areas for future program
growth and support, which integrates IT Operations, Web Development,
Instructional Design, Application Development and A/V support school-wide.

The successful applicant should have six or more years of progressive
responsibility for information technology management in the enterprise
environment and excellent administrative skills, including budget planning.
In addition, experience in web/database software design and development
skills are required.

MBA or Master’s degree in Information Systems/Computer Science or
equivalent is required. Prefer experience in higher education systems
integration. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
