Another issue is that faculty and staff have no way to
communicate

non-law school related information to students. For
example, some

faculty have "pet" causes and want to
provide event information to

students. There's no way to do that now...it can't go
on the Students

list and they can't post to the General listserv.

 

Why should faculty and staff have privileged access to
students to communicate non-law-school information about pet causes?  If
anyone outside the law school were doing this, we would call it spam.  I
would really resent this if I were a student.  Enrolling in law school
shouldn’t be an open invitation to any e-mail a law school employee wants
to send you.
