RE: Securexam 6.2.4 reports?

Chad

We finished exams 2 weeks ago
and while we had a higher incidence of problems, we also had a significant increase
in usage. At the start of exams we noticed a number of people had trouble
getting into the exam (had to reset the registry entries, reboot, try again). They
were able to take the practice exams without these problems.  The most
common error was the ‘object reference not set to an instance of an
object’ message. Again, we did not see this during the practice exams. I
suspect but can’t confirm that either a Windows update or Trend Micro
update created most these difficulties. Our campus licenses McAfee for our
students and we will do what we can to move students from Trend to McAfee.

As problems emerged we changed
our protocol for starting exams to prevent them.

Subject: [teknoids] Securexam 6.2.4 reports?

I’m sure that most Securexam schools used their latest
version (6.2.4) for Fall exams.  Since that version was released just a
week before the start of our exams (we’re on a very weird quarter-based
calendar, I could explain if you’ve got an hour or two..), we stuck with
the previous version and had minimal problems.  I understand from
conversations with Ed Brown at Software Secure that there are a few bug fixes
in 6.2.4 for the “hang/crash when exiting Securexam” problem which
seems to have existed to some degree as long as I can recall (though it has
become increasingly rare).  I just wanted to find out from those
who’ve used it whether these fixes have helped and if there’s
anything else to be aware of.  Any info or reviews/reports would be
greatly appreciated.

Thanks and have a great day!

Here at University of Detroit Mercy Law School, used secure exam for about 4 years where we had all kinds of problems, these 2 past semesters used extegrity exam4 program and had nothing but success with the product. It is very simple and easy to use. My advise to you is to check it out.
