Laser pointer for poor and/or color-blind vision

Submitted by Damien Leri on Thu, 02/12/2009 - 1:13pm.

Hi,

One of our faculty cannot see a red laser pointer, both because of
color-blindedness and because it is so small. Has anyone found a good
pointer that addresses these?

He has not tried green pointers, so I am considering getting one of
those. But ideally we would have one with a larger circle (or that we
can bring out of focus to make the circle larger).

Thanks,

Damien

actually, blue is the brightest "color" for many colorblind people (speaking from a lifetime of personal experience).I found the blue laser pointer for $582.50 fromhttp://store.oemlasersystems.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=71
I have no knowledge about the reliability, etc. of the vendor. -ken flaxmanOn Wed, Jan 28, 2009 at 11:18 AM, Ramsey, Robert L <robert-ramsey@uiowa.edu> wrote:
Here are a few laser pointers from Edmund Scientific.  They have some powerful, but pricey, models.

They also have a blue laser pointer for $899, but that seems a bit much and is probably less visible even than the red.
